This Week's Service:
This Sunday (the last Sunday in Ordinary Time and the Sunday before Advent) is known as "Reign of Christ" or "Christ the King" Sunday. On this feast day, we celebrate Jesus as fully human and fully divine.
Join us this Sunday at 10 AM (either in-person or streaming live online), as we explore Jesus as both man and Messiah. Message: Pastor Sal. Music: Peter Black and Jeff Spangler Download this week's Bulletin here:
Last Week's Service
In last Sunday's lectionary reading from Isaiah 65:17-25, it says: "Listen for the still-speaking voice of God who declares, 'I am about to create new heavens and a new earth.'" What will this "new earth" look like? Please enjoy last Sunday's service, when we explored what it means to bring about the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth.
Message: Rev. Marchiene Rientra. Music: Peter Black and Nancy Plantinga Christmas Choir Formation!
Peter Black, our Music Director, is calling all singers for our Christmas Eve Choir! All are welcome to join. The Christmas Choir will sing one song at the Christmas Eve service, with four rehearsals, held each Sunday at 11.30 beginning November 27th. You don't need to be able to attend every rehearsal, but we hope you can make as many as possible. Please speak with Peter Black to sign up or click here to write to him!

It's going so well, that the sign-up sheet for treats for December is waiting for us in the Friendship Hall! If you can provide treats for coffee hour in December, please sign up there, or connect with Joyce (you will find her contact information in the Membership Directory.)
Giving Tree is Up!
Our annual Christian Neighbors Holiday Giving Tree is now up in the Friendship Hall. Please consider taking a gift request tag from the tree this Sunday. These gift requests were given by local parents in need of providing holiday gifts for their children. Please purchase the gift request written on the tag and then place the unwrapped gift inside the "Holiday Box" in the Friendship Hall by Sunday, December 4. Thank you, as always, for your generous giving.
Transgender Day of Remembrance
Douglas UCC is proud to serve as one of the sponsors of this year's Transgender Day of Remembrance ceremony and candlelight vigil at Herrick District Library in Downtown Holland on Sunday, November 20, at 4 PM. Please come and show your support.
Help Us Meet Our Flour Goal?
We are running behind our usual gathering speed in our Annual Flour Drive for Christian Neighbors' Thanksgiving baskets. We could use your help! We will gather 5-lb bags of flour through this Sunday, November 20. Then the flour is headed to Christian Neighbors, to help fill the Thankgiving food baskets for neighbors in need. While we can usually count on collecting 100 bags of flour, at the time of this writing, we have collected 60 bags. If you can help, please drop 5-lb. bags of flour in the bin in the entryway of the Friendship Hall, or bring them with you to add to the flour table on Sunday. Thank you so much for your help!
