We were voted
“Best Place to Worship”

Douglas Congregational United Church of Christ was voted “Best Place to Worship” in the Holland Sentinel’s annual readers’ poll. The recognition highlights the presence of a progressive and radically inclusive Christian church in West Michigan — one that welcomes and celebrates people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Since embracing this open and affirming identity in 2014, Douglas UCC has experienced significant growth in membership and community engagement. As part of a nationwide denomination with over 5,000 churches and more than a million members, Douglas UCC shares in the United Church of Christ’s long-standing commitment to social justice, interfaith collaboration, and advocacy for civil, LGBTQ+, and women’s rights.

Douglas Congregational United Church of Christ’s YouTube channel has surpassed half a million views—a testament to the power of progressive Christian messaging and the deep engagement of our local and global community. The national United Church of Christ has recently featured several stories about our congregation—highlighting our mission, values, and vibrant presence in West Michigan.
