The DUCC Fund

Thanks to a generous gift from the estate of Isabel Graham at her passing more than 40 years ago, Douglas Congregational UCC established a granting fund, the Douglas UCC Fund. Since that time other gifts and bequests have added to Isabel Graham’s legacy. And, of course, we ask you to consider giving now or later through a will or estate to the Douglas UCC Fund. Half of the interest each year is used for grants, while the other half is reinvested in the fund.

Organizations receiving past grants include Christian Neighbors in Douglas, CARES of Allegan County, Community Counseling & Personal Growth Ministries, United Church Outreach Ministries, Pilgrim Manor, Concerned Clergy of West Michigan, Re-Member, and PADS of Southwest Chicago.

In addition, the DUCC Fund matches the special offerings of the church towards the greater UCC ministries and other local charities. Periodically, the fund will also assist Douglas Congregational UCC with matching grants, loans, or gifts for capital projects.

Applications for grants are accepted throughout the year, with grants being reviewed and approved or denied by a committee in June. The funding cycle runs July 1-June 30, with larger grants being disbursed quarterly. Grant recipients must be non-profit, 501(c)3 organizations, and grants are based on their alignment with the mission of Douglas Congregational UCC.

If you would like to submit a grant proposal, please review the mission of the church, answer the following questions, and submit your proposal by June 1 for consideration in the following year via email to pastor@douglasucc.org or by sending to Douglas UCC, PO Box 519, Douglas, MI 49406. You may be asked for additional information or to make a personal presentation to the DUCC Fund Committee.
